5/25 Update: The exercise has been posted on the new Visioning Exercise page.
5/24 Update: While testing the exercise today, we discovered a few unexpected issues that we believe are due to Google’s most recent update to the Google Forms product, so we are delaying the release of the exercise for an additional day. We want to ensure the exercise functions as intended before it is published. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience.
Although we intended to have the exercise for Round 3 posted today, we have had some issues ensuring the large maps used for the Visioning Workshop and at the Music and Arts Festival are legible when viewed online. We hope to have the issue addressed and the exercise posted by tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The map below contains all 893 dots that were submitted by those that took part in the second round of public engagement for the comprehensive plan update. 332 dots were originally submitted to the online map between April 18-May 1, and staff has since digitized the 561 dots that were placed on the physical maps posted at the March 19th and April 7th public workshops. You can click on each dot to view its details, and the dropdown menu below the map can be used to display only the dots in a specific land use category.
A few notes on the content of the map: Continue reading “Use and Scale Map Results”
We have had outstanding participation from the community thus far in the first two rounds of the comprehensive plan events. Now we are gearing up for perhaps the most exciting round yet. Starting May 19th, we invite you to join the Planning Commission and planning team to envision Purcellville’s future.
You have already shared with us what you love about the Town and what kind of land uses you prefer. Now is your opportunity to look 20 years into the future at the land in and around Purcellville and work with your neighbors to design the landscapes of tomorrow.
There will be 3 major input opportunities:
May 19, 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Town Hall
Join the Town Planning Commission in this engaging hands-on workshop to envision the future of Purcellville.
This workshop is designed for you to engage with your neighbors in small facilitated groups to create a vision for target areas in and near town by showing the type of development or preservation you think is most appropriate in these areas. You will have access to a wide variety of example development types (actual subdivisions) and architecture to share what you think the Purcellville area should look like 20 years from now.
The workshop is the first event in the third round of public engagement. The group work will be shared on Saturday at the Purcellville Music & Arts Festival and consolidated scenarios will be prepared for you and your neighbors to identify the features you like best.
Attendance is limited so please register below to reserve your seat.
Purcellville Music and Arts Festival
May 21, 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Fireman’s Field
Plan Purcellville will be featured in a tent during the festival, and you can stop by to review the maps created during the Workshop and the consolidated scenarios based on these maps. You will be asked to rank which of the scenarios you prefer to help select the scenarios that are further examined for fiscal and transportation impact analysis.
May 23-June 6
The Workshop results and consolidated scenarios will be posted online starting on Monday May 23rd where they can be reviewed and ranked for an additional 2 weeks.
